Rituals Cosmetics: the products I actually love

A few things leave me with a lasting good impression when I get to someone's house. From the lighting settings (from natural to artificial), to the furniture and textures, to the carpets or floors, to the temperature and to their welcoming smile.
One brand encapsulates all that I love in welcoming houses that just exude quiet luxury: the Dutch brand Rituals Cosmetics, that focuses on home and body wellbeing through delightful scents and mixtures. I first tried the Rituals products in hotels and other people's houses. And I needed them in my house immediately! But where to start?

The Ritual of Hammam Spa Set
A few Christmases ago, my husband gave me a stunning The Ritual of Hammam set. I quickly burned the candle (it was that delightful) and I took my time to use the other products which were:

The perfect combo for a powder room
When I left Portugal after 4 years living and working there, my parting gift from former colleagues was an amazing white "set" they created, with a beautiful Ivory candle - a now discontinued Green Cardamom one I burned quickly - and a Savage Garden hand wash & hand cream we keep in our visitors bathroom to this day.
Well, I must mean "kept", as we recently finished the Savage Garden Hand Wash and substituted with the Royal Tea Hand Wash, as we wanted to keep the white hues in the bathroom but could not find the Savage Garden one available.

An elevated Shower Experience
In December 2025, we went to a Rituals store in the Algarve and we sort of... raided their products. One of the sets that caught my attention - which would give an amazing Christmas present if you are into giving those! - their 25-year anniversary set with 10 shower mousses and a beautiful House ceramic perfect for a tea light. It was also the occasion to test most of their shower mousses before diving into buying a bigger size.
Here a few of the shower mousses I have tried:
Diwali Delight - Patchouli & Cardamom
Such a vibrant and spicy smell. I imagine using this one before a dinner date with the husband and then lathering my legs in body oil to keep it longer.
Oriental Dream - Creamy Cacao & Almond Milk
It smells like a warm hug, perfect for an everything shower on a Sunday morning, as you get physically and mentally ready to tackle the week.
Summer Rain - Chinese Peony & Lotus Flower
I wanted to love this but I did not. With a fresh zing, this one felt citrusy and overly sweet and I didn't like it.
The Ritual of Hammam - Eucalyptus & Argan Oil
My favourite so far, without a doubt. I didn't realise it was from the Hammam collection until I used it. The formula is different - they ditched the rosemary for the argan oil - and it became even more scrumptious. In love!
The Ritual of Yalda - Watermelon & Pomegranate
With a peppy vibe at first whiff, I found this one to be too sweet for me. I would not repurchase in a bigger container.

The Home Fragrance, taken to a new level
One of my favourite candles from Diptyque is the Ambre one and this is what has drawn me to try their Precious Amber candle. It is gorgeous, sultry and the most amazing and warm smell around the house. I love burning the big sized candle we have in our Algarve home, as well as a smaller sized one we got for Christmas from very tasteful people.
Your clothes can smell even better too
I recently discovered Rituals's Intuitta and Gratitude lines. Intuitta focuses on the warm notes of Sandalwood & Vanilla notes, and I purchased the Intuitta Scented Ceramic Charms for my wardrobe and a delicious body scrub which leaves the skin smelling so good, with a gorgeous shimmer. Amazing to use after a pool day with a fresh tan. Speaking of after sun, I have purchased but have yet to try The Ritual of Karma After Sun Cooling Gel
With peach and lavender notes, I chose the Gratitude Wardrobe Pendants and I have those on my pajamas drawers. It has a wax texture which can be replaced and smells gorgeous as well. And lavender notes are perfect for a good night's sleep.
Your body? Check. Your home? Check. What about your car?
Last but not least, if you own a car and love a good smelling car, Rituals might have just the product for you. Not only do they have a great range of Car Air Fresheners but they are also gorgeous, with a wooden structure that makes any panel more elegant. I love the Lotus one. It is a great stocking present as well!
All in all, these are all gorgeous and luxurious gift ideas too. Rituals manages to do something simple but powerful: turning small daily routines into moments of luxurious comfort. Whether it is a candle burning in the living room or a scented charm in a wardrobe, their products quietly take everyday spaces to another level.
