Around the world Dinners in Paris
You already had the croissant experience at breakfast and the escargots at lunch? Want something different whilst in Paris? Well, do as the Parisians do, they get more adventurous when they go out at night with friends and family. Here are a few restaurants, from more international and fusion vibes to the open market feel I adore. If you have ever been to any or recommend another one, please share in the comments, I'd love to head there next!
Les Ombres - Musée du Quai Branly
We had dinner at Les Ombres in a hot summer evening a few years ago and it was a stunning experience. Located on the top floor of the Musée du Quai Branly, the restaurant Les Ombres sits on the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, making it a great "dinner with a view" experience. Whilst dining there we saw not one but two couples get engaged! It is a photogenic location to do so, that's for sure.

Usually places that rely on location do not focus on the food but we were positively surprised by the quality of the menu and the very nice service. Also there is no background music playing here. All the tables are set alfresco and in dimmed light, as only the Eiffel Tower is expected to give you a soft glow. A stunning and romantic experience, that I do recommend.

We finished a bottle of Bordeaux red wine during our meal - Tables only lit from the Eiffel Tower glow
Monsieur Bleu - Palais de Tokyo
A few years ago, I was looking into dining at an upscale place I had never been to before, but I didn't know who to ask for recommendations. Finally, I came across this suggestion on Julia Engel Berolzheimer's former website, Gal Meets Glam. It turned out to be the best choice. Located on Avenue de New York, specifically in the Palais de Tokyo, which houses the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Monsieur Bleu offers a view of the Eiffel Tower for those seated outdoors or near the windows. Since it was raining, we chose a table inside. The place was full of beautiful people at every table.

Our dinner choices at Monsieur Bleu
The service was merely satisfactory, despite a few initial hiccups with our server, who seemed to have too many tables to manage. But things improved, especially in terms of the atmosphere and, of course, the food! For starters, we ordered a mozzarella salad with beets (I had never seen so many types of beets together, some very orange, light, and translucent) and a ceviche. For the main courses, we had lamb with green lentils and scallops in a passion fruit sauce, served with wonderfully al dente vegetables. To accompany everything, we started with two delicious cocktails and, during dinner, shared a bottle of rosé.
It was a spectacular, romantic evening that stayed with me as a memorable experience. Highly recommended!
888 NIGHT MARKET
This is a great place my Parisian brother, who lives in Paris, took me to in October 2025. Located in a small street in the 3rd arrondissement, you find an open restaurant that also resembles an open market restaurant.

No stalls here, only one cuisine, which is a modern take on Chinese food. Have you ever seen Chinese food with cheese? Well, you have it here and it's more delicious than you could think!

We ordered several goat and fire chicken skewers and these were delicious! As well as the fried chicken and the fried rice with crispy onion. Nothing very healthy, everything VERY delicious though!

The main event was without a doubt is the Cheese Dumpling Party where they bring a heater to your table with the raw cheese and over 20 raviolis. They lit it up and it starts melting before you. You have to be quick to grab it, it's delicious when it's hot and still melting! What a fun experience to have with friends or family!

Track 119
Last but certainly not least, this is a spectacular and unusual place where my older brother took me to on my birthday in October 2025. He asked what I wanted to eat and I said "Mexican or Indian" and boy, was this the best place he could take me too! Track 119 is located in the 11th arrondissement - not my usual stopping grounds - you would not realise from the street how big it is. After a long corridor where lots of people are standing and talking, you see several stalls around a bar.

Track 119 emulates a small food market with several little restaurants you can order your food at via a qr code and then they call you for pick up or they send it to your table. My brother is a usual customer so I saw lots of hugs and air kisses going on with the vendors, which made it all the cosier for me. I was amazed at the good vibe, all the people talking and mingling at the bar and the people enjoying foods from all over the world. You have street food, middle eastern, mexican and japanese. We went for a full mix at the table and order a big of everything.
For the table, we ordered the Japanese stall - Kotsu Kotsu - famous double fried chicken Karaage. Several tables around us were delighting in it. I love fried chicken in general but this wasn't my favourite, I found it a bit bland.

But good news were coming just ahead: the vegetarian mushroom taco from the Amorcito stall was the best I have ever had in my life. I ate it with my eyes closed. I only close my eyes when I am positively transported through my taste buds. Damn, that was good. My older brother had DEB's Street Food Hyderabadi Biryiani Dabba (safran rice with goat meat) and my younger brother had the kafta from the RAAD Four Libanais's stall. For dessert, we all shared Amorcito's churros.

All in all, it was a great "Around the world" experience to have in Paris, if you feel you had your share of croissants and escargots during the day. Give it a go, this is where you will find the real Parisians, believe me.

If you want to head back to more genuine French flavours, check my breakfast and lunch options too. A bit of everything for everybody makes for very happy travellers.
