APRIL
The Testaments
Where to watch: Hulu, April 8
An evolution of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments is a dramatic coming-of-age story set in Gilead. The series follows young teens Agnes, dutiful and pious, and Daisy, a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead’s borders. As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future. The Handmaid's Tale was a great show so I am keen on watching this one.
MARCH
Imperfect Women
Where to watch: Apple TV, March 18
Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women examines a crime that shatters the lives of three women in a decades-long friendship. The unconventional thriller explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that irrevocably alter our lives. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem. For the actors on this one, I can't wait to watch it.
Scarpetta
Where to watch: Prime, March 11
The show revolves around Kay Scarpetta, a chief medical examiner in Virginia, returning for a second go-round, having left the job but feeling uneasy about the way it ended. It turns out a new murder has unsettling echoes of her very first case. I might watch this one because nobody loves a hard worker like I do and Nicole Kidman's has been working hard for the past 10 years.
DTF St. Louis
Where to watch: HBO, March 1
Things start to unravel when Clark, a television weatherman in Saint Louis, discovers a website called DTF: St Louis, short for... local people "down to"... have sex. Not sure I want to watch this one, but it seems to have great actors.
FEBRUARY
Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Caroline Bessette
Where to watch: FX, February 12
I did not read Elizabeth Beller’s book Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy the show Love Story is based on, but I read Carole Radziwill's heartbreaking memoir What Remains. As the widow of Anthony Radziwill (cousin of the one and only John John) and best friend with Carolyn herself, you dive into their world and your heart crushes for them. I cannot wait to watch this.
