Tiktok accounts I love | Moms Edition
I love Tiktok, it's my favourite social media plaftorm. My #1 used to be Twitter but I don't even know what to call it anymore. What are "Tweets" now... "Exes"?

What I love on Tiktok: the algorithm works superbly. When I watch or like content, I don't even need to follow the accounts, they are always land on my FYP (For You Page). It also curates content around what I like to watch. I re-started watching lots of french content in the past six months and the language & vocabulary came back to me. It was a reconnection I craved and I love opening the app and there it is, a new interview or vlog in French.
What I also love on Tiktok: it does not have an addictive factor.
Almost 3 years ago, I was addicted to Instagram.
I could spend hours and hours scrolling through content. There was one day I saw my screen time and the dreaded figure: 4h52 on Instagram. With intervals, I had spend almost 5 hours out of 24 (or 18h awake) on a social media app. I felt so much shame. I quickly went on a hiatus that lasted for two years. I can spend days and weeks without heading to Tiktok and I am okay, I don't think about it or crave it. I don't feel FOMO. It's entertaining or educational, in bitesize chunks for me.
It feels like Tiktok gives me a chocolate, one to taste at a time. Instagram used to feed me a whole box at once and at nauseam, know what I mean?
So here are a few accounts I love. I might follow them or not - again, the algorithm works so well I get to see content I love without having to look for it. This one is about my favourite Tiktok moms.
I am not very good at being maternal or even at paying the fullest attention to people with kids. But these women are fun. And I dig their vibe.
In alphabetical order:
@aloprofile
@aloprofile: she is a mom of one and just found out she is expecting baby #2. She is so fun and stylish. Has impeccable taste - just check her house - and her daily vlogs that follow a similar structure on a weekly basis give me serenity and something to look forward to. The best: her vlogs running errands in her car. Her music selection is amazing. Also, her workout videos made me workout again. I swear. She really inspires me and she replies to comments, which is really nice.
@brit_cunningham
@brit_cunningham: she is a neat freak and the best storyteller ever! Brit shares her life from New Zealand. She has three kids and she does her best not to go nuts on a daily basis. I have followed her for a couple of years and saw her move from a new build to an older house, where she and her husband are tackling lots of renovation projects. I love her voice and dark humour, I could listen to her speak all day long.
@gilliandelzotto1
@gilliandelzotto1: if there was a book about Gillian, I would shut my office laptop and my work phone for the day just to read it. She is that fascinating. Gillian is a dynamic NYC mom of two little boys and she is always on the go go go. I don't have half her energy and I am not a mother, I don't know how she does it. She posts a vlog around her daily life around home projects, motherhood, travel, beauty. She inspires me with her 5AM workouts and a life fully lived on the daily.
@mummy.of.four
@mummy.of.four: Mina is, as her username conveys, a mother of four young children in England. She shares life as a single mother and she is a cleaning freak. She even recently opened a cleaning business as she is famous for her deep clean. She is the kind of account that keeps it real and doesn't gloss over situations, telling it like it is. You will not be able not to root for her and her tiktok/business success once you follow her content.
@mummysflippinhouse
@mummysflippinhouse: Caroline is CRAY CRAY! She is so fun! She has three kids - just had her third baby a few weeks ago! - and she doesn't take herself too seriously. She is British, living in New England and looking forward to getting out of there. Her humour is super sharp and she is my spirit animal (can we say this about a fellow human?) because what she feels about living in the US is exactly how I felt about living in Portugal, with the added factors our respective husbands are from the countries we just feel so disconnected with. Caroline and her gang are about to move to the UK, which promises that there will be a lot of fun (and stressful!) content around her move and new family life where she feels she belongs.
@nabela
@nabela: I am sure she will love being in the Mom Edition category - not because it's my blog that she will never see in her life! - but because Nabela tried to conceive for years and now she has two daughters, born back to back, in the past 2 years. Nabela showcases lifestyle, her gorgeous all white house and candle collection (so jealous!) in the most aesthetic way. She created the #pocketsofpeace videos during the pandemic which made her even more famous. When you watch her videos, you will feel the peace. I promise.
@rachelc95x
@rachelclenaghan: from Scotland, Rachel shares her life with her two babies: her toddler boy and her baby girl born just a few months ago. Rachel is very candid about life and motherhood and I followed her journey from the end of her pregnancy to her birth experience. And let me tell you: I am mortified at the idea of birth - of any kind - and the way Rachel candidly shared it... I almost felt the fear lift off. Almost! If you want honest maternity with heart, Rachel is the one to follow.
