As the hotel embarks on a $50 M USD renovation, I feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia. I look forward to seeing what’s new yet part of me hopes they preserve the soul of the place: the views, the service, the scent in the lobby. For now, this is my Table Bay Hotel. As I hope it will always be.
We spent two amazing weeks in June in Tanzania for our honeymoon, from sky safari to lunches in the bushes, from lounging in the pool in Zanzibar to sleeping in a tent in a lions cove. Read our journey in Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Zanzibar
We kicked off our Serengeti adventure with a scenic drive from Seronera to Pioneer Camp, a tented hilltop retreat in a lions cove, with vintage charm and roars becoming your night lullaby. From colourful meals to a surprise rainstorm on safari, this part of our Tanzanian honeymoon was pure magic.
After landing in Zanzibar and heading to Arusha, we rested at Arusha Coffee Lodge. There we sipped perfect iced coffee and a coffee plantation tour, enjoyed our first Tanzanian meal, and took a scenic private flight to Serengeti. A peaceful stopover before our safari in Mainland Tanzania began.
