South Africa Wineries | Afternoon Tea at Le Lude Estate (with video)
Le Lude Estate, October 2024

My husband and I got engaged whilst having the most sumptuous Morning Festive Tea in Edinburgh, Scotland and it always been a festive moment for us, especially around my birthday. He found and booked our experience at Le Lude Estate during our Spring Break stay in Franschhoek, Western Cape whilst we were staying at the Mont Rochelle estate.

Our experience surrounded by vineyards and hills at Mont Rochelle, a Virgin Limited estate in South Africa’s Western Cape French Corner

It was such a splendid sunny day to enjoy Le Lude in such an exquisite and well kept estate.

My husband chose our table at the Orangerie and it was the perfect combination of being inside but people watching the other tables and the estate in itself. People were young and gorgeous, wearing linens, boasting their sunglasses, having a laugh, sipping countless bottles of sparkling Cap Classique wine from the estate. I completely recharge in such settings!

Fashion | What I wore on our Spring Break holiday in Cape Town
The amount of feedback and clicks on my corporate wardrobe with 30 looks photographed through shameless elevator mirror selfies made me want to share more about my fashion choices with you. This time around, I am ditching the blazers and tailored trousers for sunnier dresses and shorter lengths.

The menu was composed of copious amounts of rooibos tea (my favourite as I don't drink any other type of tea), flûtes of sparkling wine and a festival of savoury and fresh baked goods. We loved the egg salad, salmon and cucumber sandwiches and the most delightful roast beef open sandwich (which reminded us our smorebrod in Denmark) with crisp onion and feta spread (A-MA-ZING), as well as the baby spinach frittatas.

A mouth savouring display with freshly baked goods

The sweet side of things was composed of macarons, madeleines (my favourite), chous à la crème (I lived my whole life in France so these food memories come with a kick!), black forest cake and the grandest carrot cake with icing sugar. We couldn't finish it all during the meal so we took it to go and enjoyed it back at the hotel. We also had to buy a bottle of Le Lude Cap Classique to bring back home to Luanda, it is the freshest and most enjoyable bubbly!

This was such a delightful experience we cannot wait to go back in an upcoming Cape Town trip and recommend it to friends who will travel there anytime soon!
