Paris | Is the Crazy Horse show worth it?

As we were preparing our Winter Break Paris trip, we wanted to incorporate something cultural and unique in our itineraries. We firstly tried to get Opera tickets but found none available on such short notice. A bummer as I really wanted to go and watch Play. Then we opted to attend a Crazy Horse show. I had been to a Lido show at the Champs Elysées about 20 years ago with my father and wanted to try a cabaret show again, this time with my husband.

There are a number of options whilst booking your ticket, from single ticket to show and champagne or show and dinner. We opted for the CRAZY PRIVILEGE option with show & champagne, which would also give us privileged sitting at the venue.

We got to the Metro and left at the Alma Marceau station and arrived 40 minutes before opening. There was already a long queue outside but it started moving on very quickly once we were in. You have a long way to go down the stairs - and it goes slowly - and then you have to check your coat as they are not allowed inside.

We were then quickly sat in the third row just in front of the stage. The waiter opened a bottle of Laurent Perrier for us to enjoy during the show and a few minutes later we also got canapés, some savoury hors d'oeuvres to nibble on during the show. Some people had caviar with those as well.

There was already a bit of music being played and a man acting like the host that kicked off the show. We cannot take pictures from the show but let me tell you the ambiance gets electric as soon as the stunning Crazy Horse dancers appear, people really cheer them on - I even asked myself if attendants knew the line up by heart beforehand! The dancers are stunning and the costumes are flamboyant. Yes, they are mostly naked or have sheer tights that makes your imagination go wild. But it is all very tasteful and the lighting is a major character during the whole show as the game of light and shadows (and reflections) also plays a major part. Last but not least, they wear stunning stunning stunning Christian Louboutin shoes.

It was a 90-minute experience to remember where the beauty and strength of the feminine body is celebrated through dance, gymnastics and music. We do recommend for adults for a unique experience in Paris. And then, I recommend heading to dinner with the champagne in your veins and the music in your mind!
