Beauty | Afro/Curly Hair Essentials - March 2024

On a permanent rotation | I just don’t question these products anymore, I rebuy whenever they finish (or I already have a stock, just because you know… #beautyhoarder here):

I am a big fan but hadn’t used in a while:

-       Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Super Moisture Shampoo: I hadn’t purchased this one in a while. I used to buy it all the time when I bought through Cult Beauty but with Brexit, I have had a harder time buying items from the UK (the last order took over 3 weeks to arrive!). Was happy to find it at Sephora Portugal and I bought the biggest container because why buy a small one when you just know you will need it all, amirite? Also from Briogeo, I finished two hair masks samples, the Don’t Despair, Repair one which I had already used and loved and the Be Gentle, Be Kind that was pretty good and I could see myself rebuy the normal size one in the future.

-       Christophe Robin Luscious Curl Conditioning Cleanser: boy, I love this French brand. This guy (and his team) just get my hair. I feel it deeply nourishes my hair with very little product to apply. It also doesn’t foam like other products, making it seem more natural-based.

-       Moroccanoil Hydrationg Styling Cream: ON A ROLL. I love it. I must have rebought it 20 times in my life. Best to untangle my hair and Bruno lovessssss the smell

-       Olaplex Hair Perfector nº3: I have been using it for over 5 years, even before it became the hype it is nowadays. I love this pre-shampoo because I can put it on, I immediately feel the effect on my hair whilst doing something else and the hair routine under the shower is much faster. Saving water is important for me! Also great with detangling. I alternate this one with Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme pre-shampoo.

I am trying for the first time and I don’t know what I really think about it yet:

-       Kérastase Resistance Sérum Therapiste: I bought it with the shampoo + hair mask combo (that I have already finished and rebought and finished again) and I don’t know what to think about this product. I feel it doesn’t do anything for me and I tend to forget it. I loved the shampoo and hair mask tho and would rebuy!

-       Larry King A Social Life for your hair cream: I used it on damp hair and I am trying it out. The natural grass smell makes me feel like I just rolled on the grass outside.

I don’t love it but…:

-       Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream: I honestly just use this when my Hydrating Cream is out of stock. I think it’s too dense and it doesn’t help my curls and detangling either.

It never finished so I never rebought but I like it and it might end in 2037:

-       Balmain Hair Perfume: People compliment me a lot when I use it. Bought it in January 2018, love it, seems it will never empty tho.
