Fazenda Irmãos Chaves: a Hidden Oasis in Angola (with video)

We left the chaos behind, heading east with nothing but a car, small bags, and insect repellent. Four hours later, we arrived at a place so serene, so unexpected, it felt like stepping into another world, where time slows, nature thrives, sundowners arise and the digital world fades.

Fazenda Irmãos Chaves: a Hidden Oasis in Angola (with video)

Life in Angola, especially in Luanda, is hectic. Every single day is a permanent survival quest at "resistance 8, inclination 11" level. If you workout in a gym, you'll know. Nothing happens exactly the way you'd expect and you have to spend way more time and energy (and money) into things you take for granted and as quickly solved in other parts of the world. Yet every little accomplishment is considered a success. Hence life here can be so rewarding and fulfilling. It's hard to explain but only the few who come here and open their hearts to it get that incredible daily feeling. Yet it can take a toll on you on the longer term, so you need escaping.

And it doesn't only happen when you can into an airplane away from the country to go to Cape Town which is only 4 hours away.

No, this time we think we found just the place a few hours drive beyond the city's reach:
